Arte + Community Wellness

Pathway: Comunidad y Cultura

Community wellness as “living into the seasons”: seasonal gatherings that weave ancestral tradition, creative expression and community connection into one living practice.

Workshop participants make art together around a long table at LCAC.

Where healing happens through culture

At LCAC, we practice a healing methodology that weaves ancestral tradition, creative expression and community connection into a single, living practice. It is not a class. It is not a clinical program. It is what happens when a community stops outsourcing its healing and starts doing it together.

Arte + Community Wellness is the heart of Comunidad y Cultura, LCAC's pathway dedicated to intergenerational exchange, cultural preservation and collective wellbeing. We define community wellness as “living into the seasons”: embracing the natural cycles of the land, and flowing with the rhythms of nature to cultivate balance, rest and growth.

We move with the seasons: fall altar-making that honors ancestors and holds grief, winter storytelling circles that bridge generations, spring herbal medicine workshops, and summer outdoor art that returns us to the land.

Each gathering is co-facilitated by a local artist and a bilingual mental health professional, and grounded in the traditions that sustained Latino families long before wellness was an industry.
