January 2021 Newsletter

Dear LCAC Familia,

As I sat down to write this,

I wondered how to address you, the thousands of individuals that make up our listserv and follow us on social media. LCAC Supporters? LCAC Community? After everything we experienced together in 2020, we are Familia, Amigos & Colegas.

I want to thank each and every one of you who back the efforts of the LCAC. You are our Champions! Our year-end fundraising campaign raised $22,116 in individual contributions alone. We have made it through perhaps the most difficult year of our lives. Endless potential lays ahead in these uncharted waters.

After a year of listening and reflecting, I am pleased to announce our updated Vision, Mission, and Values. Your feedback through our Sobremesa conversations helped shape our progress, so take pride in what we are building together. Take a moment to visit our exciting NEW website!

With that said, I write to outline a path ahead and confidently ask that you continue to participate in the development of the LCAC. Next steps include collaboratively designing Las Bodegas, located at

1935 W. 12th Avenue in the La Alma Park neighborhood. This community art space that will host future programs including Ofrendas. Stay tuned in the coming months for ways to get involved!

Our goal is to continue reaching thousands of more students, parents, artists and scholars who believe that art MUST have a social impact. Our upcoming programs and events will put our collective artistic and intellectual contributions on the map. We need you by our side in 2021 and beyond.

As always, I am available to talk about ideas you may have regarding upcoming projects as we embark on this journey together.

Sinceramente,

Alfredo
