In Development: Refuge by Andrew Rosendorf
Join Curious Theatre and LCAC for an in-development workshop reading of Refuge. This highly collaborative project brings together artists to fuse two languages, puppets, and music into a highly theatrical event. The play chronicles the harrowing journey one young Honduran girl takes as she crosses the US border into the inhospitable, barren land of Texas, tackling the immigration crisis on the border with a beautiful unique lens.
Únase a Curious y LCAC para las lecturas de Refuge en el taller de desarrollo. Este proyecto altamente colaborativo reúne a artistas para fusionar dos idiomas, títeres y música en un evento altamente teatral. La obra narra el desgarrador viaje que una joven Hondureña hace mientras cruza la frontera de los EE. UU. Hacia la tierra inhóspita e esteril de Texas, abordando la crisis de inmigración en la frontera a través de lentes únicos.
Artist Team collaborators include Minneapolis-based writer Andrew Rosendorf, Chip Walton and Dee Covington of Curious, Chicago composer/ musician/ actress Satya Chavez, Denver playwright/ performer/ mariachi musician Marialuisa Burgos, musician/ puppet artist Adolfo Romero, puppet artist Ariel Sainz from Mexico, and dramaturg Lynde Rosario of Denver.
