The LCAC Public Art Mentoring Program is entering its 2025 season and expanding to reach more young, emerging artists across the Denver Metro. Rooted in Latinidad, the Public Art Mentoring program connects students' heritage and lived experience to a set of powerful professional skills, ultimately preparing them to confidently respond to public art calls and work prosperously across a diverse and thriving art market.
We are working with students from Colorado Charter High School mentoring under multidisciplinary artist Kristina Maldonado Bad Hand. Their next project is developing individual proposals for a large-scale artwork for the LCAC's new offices, as well as have the opportunity to work with the Mid-Brow Collective as they develop their Tribute to the Westside for MSU's 800 Kalamath Building.
Stay tuned for upcoming community engagements, including the celebration for our student-driven mural & public engagements for the Tribute to the Westside as both begin to take shape!
